Services for people with disabilities

Caritas supports and accompanies people with a disability in every stage of their lives, whether at home or on the move, in groups or alone. With the aim of enabling people to live in the middle of society, through self-determination, participation and inclusion.
Family Respite Service (FED)
FED, the Family Respite Service, is a mobile service that enables relatives of people with disabilities to have personal space and to pursue their own needs. The aim is to enable people with disabilities to remain in their familiar family environment as much as possible and to receive support and encouragement for their personal needs, goals and wishes.
A person with a disability radically changes family life. Their care, support and upbringing require a lot of time, attention and energy. This means an enormous psychological and physical burden for all involved over many years.
Personal Assistance (PASS)
We offer individual support in everyday life for people with disabilities who are able to organise themselves and take on responsibility.
What we offer
- Basic care (personal hygiene, food intake)
- Household tasks (shopping, laundry, cooking)
- Accompaniment/mobility (accompaniment to doctor, authorities, therapy, ...)
- Communication and leisure (accompaniment to events, travel assistance, ...)
The assistance times are not fixed. It is up to the person to decide when, where and in what form the assistance should take place.
Leisure assistance for people with disabilities - Team Schmetterling
Self-determination, participation and inclusion - for a life in the middle of society
Leisure assistants support people with disabilities in discovering their own abilities and interests. Social integration, detachment from the parental home and a path to a self-determined life are thus promoted.

- city trips and sports weeks
- any other activities that interest them
Living Assistance (WASS)
We offer help for self-help in order to develop and promote one's own abilities and also to use them in a targeted way.
What we offer
- Finding and furnishing accommodation
- Going to the bank and dealing with the authorities
- Making appointments, accompanying and planning visits to the doctor
- Organisation of everyday life (household, assistance with shopping, planning finances)
Assistance times are based on individual needs and are agreed upon together.
School assistance / kindergarten assistance
School integration of children and young people with disabilities in compulsory education and kindergarten. The aim is to integrate the children in the best possible way in cooperation with parents and teaching staff and thus also to promote their further development.
- We support the child as needed in everyday activities such as dressing and undressing, eating, going to the toilet and, if necessary, provide assistance with care at school or kindergarten.
- We work with the teaching staff and parents for the child and their active participation in the school day.
- We learn together with the child, help with putting away and taking out the school bag, preparing school things for lessons and support during breaks; pick up the pupil from the bus and bring him/her back to the bus after lessons.
- We encourage social contact with other children
- We support the child in learning social skills
- We give the child important emotional support and motivation
- We encourage fine and gross motor skills
- We encourage independence
Peer counselling
A comprehensive counselling service is offered to enable people with disabilities to live independently as far as possible.
