CariM - intercultural work with men
As a contact point for intercultural work with men, the CariM project offers a protected framework for discourse on taboo topics as well as counselling for boys and men affected by honour conflicts.
The target group is encouraged to develop their own self-determined life plans free of restrictive honour regulations and is accompanied by CariM in the implementation of these plans.
Who can turn to CariM?
Boys and men (16 years and older) with a migration background (Austrians, third-country nationals, EU citizens, persons granted asylum and subsidiary protection, as well as asylum seekers).
"Due to my own flight as well as experiences I have had over the years as a migrant in a culture that is foreign to me, I can put myself in the target group's shoes very well. As a mother-tongue counsellor, I want to offer the men a protected space. I know the worries and fears of these people and can give them confidence by sharing experiences together."
